Shimla to Narkanda/Sarahan
Begin the circuit with a scenic drive out of Shimla into the apple belt.

Onward to Chitkul
Drive via Sangla to Chitkul, the last village of the Baspa Valley.

Chitkul to Nako
Cross into the cold desert region and overnight near Nako Lake.

Nako to Kaza
Visit Tabo Monastery and Dhankar en route to Kaza, the headquarters of Spiti.

Kaza village circuit
Explore Key Monastery, Kibber, Langza and Komic — a full day in the high villages.

Kaza to Chandratal Lake
Drive over Kunzum Pass and trek a short stretch to camp beside the pristine Chandratal Lake.

Chandratal to Manali
Cross the Rohtang Pass and descend into Manali by evening.

Manali sightseeing
Visit Solang Valley, Hadimba Temple and Mall Road at leisure.
